Basra: Basra Governor, Engineer Asaad Abdul Amir Al-Eidani, continues his official visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, which aims to discuss strategic service issues, primarily water and health. A technical delegation including the Director of the Planning Department at the Governorate Diwan, Walaa Abdul Karim, and the Director of Basra Water, Nizar Nasser, participated in the visit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the Governor’s Office indicated that Al-Eidani met with Istanbul Governor Dawoud Jal during the visit, as part of a busy agenda aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Turkey, particularly with regard to the challenges facing Basra in the water sector.

The meeting followed the Basra Governor’s participation in a Turkish-Iraqi roundtable meeting, which was held in the presence of several officials from both sides. The attendees discussed a set of technical proposals and programs aimed at improving the service sector in the governorate.

Al-Eidani emphasized that his visit is part of a multi-pronged official effort, encompassing service, water, and health issues, with the participation of specialized personnel to ensure accurate decisions are formulated that meet the needs of Basra’s citizens.

He pointed out that the accompanying technical delegation is currently preparing detailed reports on the results of the meetings and the proposals submitted by the Turkish side, in preparation for their inclusion on the governorate’s agenda for the next phase.
