Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani received a delegation representing red card holders in his office today and listened to a detailed explanation of their plight.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani affirmed that he will work to provide justice to this important segment of the population and attempt to compensate them for the material and moral damages they have suffered. He stressed that he will issue his own directives to the relevant parliamentary committees to address their case and work to include it on the Parliament’s agenda.

For their part, the red card representatives praised the efforts made by the Parliament Speaker, his adoption of their demands, and his attempts to resolve them within legal frameworks.
