Gaza: The World Health Organization announced today that Gaza recorded the highest monthly rate of acute malnutrition among children in July 2025. The figures highlight a critical health crisis affecting the region’s youngest and most vulnerable population.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the organization’s Director-General reported that approximately 12,000 children under the age of five suffered from acute malnutrition last month. This statistic underscores the severe health challenges facing Gaza’s children, who are grappling with inadequate nutrition and its life-threatening consequences.

The Director-General further elaborated that about 2,500 of these children are experiencing critical, life-threatening conditions, indicating an urgent need for medical intervention and nutritional support. Additionally, the report highlighted that 99 individuals have died from the beginning of 2025 until July 29, including 64 adults and 35 children. Among the deceased children, 29 were under the age of five, underscoring the dire situation.

This alarming rise in malnutrition calls for immediate attention from international health organizations and humanitarian aid providers to address the escalating crisis in Gaza. The situation not only affects the health and well-being of children but also poses a significant challenge to the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
