Al-Sudani Confirms Commitment to Service Projects Amid Launch of South Karbala Water Project


Karbala: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has reaffirmed the ongoing execution of service projects aligned with the government program.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, during his visit to the holy Karbala Governorate, Al-Sudani inaugurated the South Karbala Water Project, which boasts a capacity of 16,000 cubic meters per hour. He emphasized the government’s commitment to its development agenda, aiming to enhance basic services and elevate the standard of living and economic conditions across all governorates. Al-Sudani underscored the importance of adhering to project specifications, ensuring proper preparation from the outset, appointing an engineering consultant, and performing necessary technical inspections.



The South Karbala Water Project is strategically located near Karbala International Airport and comes with a substantial investment of 702.5 billion dinars. The project, designed with the latest engineering and technical advancements, will feature a main filtration station, eight pumping stations, and an intermediate station near the pilgrims’ road. It will also include transmission lines extending a total of 270 kilometers.
