Basra: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari has directed the dispatch of an investigative committee from the ministry’s headquarters to Basra Governorate to follow up on the investigation into the death of a psychiatrist who passed away on August 4.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior issued a statement explaining that the minister’s directive is intended to ensure the integrity of the investigative procedures and to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. The statement further mentioned that Al-Shammari emphasized the necessity of full coordination with the Iraqi judiciary to ensure that the investigation proceeds in accordance with fair legal standards.
