Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji engaged in discussions with Deputy Minister of Migration and Displacement Karim al-Nouri regarding the latest updates on the issue of displaced persons and strategies for their return to their original regions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Chancellery released a statement highlighting that the meeting focused on the Ministry of Migration’s efforts to facilitate the voluntary return of displaced individuals. The discussions also included the situation at Syria’s al-Hol camp, emphasizing the urgency of resolving this issue by encouraging countries to repatriate their citizens remaining in the camp.

The statement further noted that al-Araji confirmed the Iraqi government’s commitment to implementing measures and plans aimed at returning displaced persons to their hometowns. He highlighted that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has prioritized this matter in the government’s agenda. Additionally, al-Araji mentioned that rehabilitation programs for displaced individuals are actively underway to prepare them for reintegration into society.
