Baghdad: Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, received the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Nicol² Fontana, in his office on Tuesday. During the meeting, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Italy across various fields.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim highlighted the significance of enhancing ties in the economic, cultural, educational, and tourism sectors. He noted the unprecedented state of stability that Iraq is currently experiencing, attributing it to the efforts and sacrifices of Iraqis and the support of international allies. Al-Hakim stressed the necessity of maintaining this stability due to its positive implications for regional and global stability.

The discussion also covered the upcoming elections in Iraq, which al-Hakim described as a pivotal moment in the country’s history. He highlighted the importance of broad and informed participation in the electoral process and underscored the need for electoral security to ensure that voters and candidates can freely engage in the democratic process.
