Maysan: A medical source in Maysan Governorate announced today, Tuesday, the death of a young man while undergoing surgery at Al-Majar Al-Kabir Hospital, south of the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the young man was admitted to the hospital for surgery but died while under anesthesia. Initial information suggests that the patient received an excessive dose of anesthesia, which caused his death.

The source further revealed that the competent authorities have commenced an investigation into the incident to determine its circumstances and take the necessary legal measures.
