Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid on Monday emphasized the importance of strengthening diplomatic relations with countries around the world to serve Iraq’s highest interests and enhance regional and global security and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rashid received in Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, during which they reviewed the political and security situation in the country. The president highlighted Iraq’s pivotal and positive role in easing tensions and promoting the principles of peace, understanding, and dialogue on international issues.

The statement added that the meeting also addressed regional developments and their impact on the Iraqi arena.
