Cairo: Iraq chaired today, Monday, the meeting of the Committee for the Follow-up of the Implementation of Arab Summit Resolutions, hosted at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo. This meeting took place in anticipation of the 164th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Osama Mahdi Ghanem, who leads the Arab Department at the Ministry’s Center, presided over the meeting in his role as a delegate and senior official representing Iraq, the current chair of the Arab Summit.

The meeting saw participation from representatives of several Arab nations, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and Yemen. Discussions centered around a report presented by the League’s General Secretariat, detailing its efforts to follow through on the outcomes and decisions made during the 34th regular Baghdad Summit, which took place in Iraq’s capital from May 12 to 17 this year.

The statement further confirmed that Iraq, in its capacity as the current summit chair, approved the integration of this report into the agenda for the 164th session of the Arab League Council.
