Baghdad: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Iraq engaged in discussions with Judge Ali Hussein Jaffat, head of the International Judicial Cooperation Center, about strategies to bolster cooperation regarding the inclusion of ISIS crimes in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. The meeting took place on Tuesday in Baghdad, focusing on documenting the atrocities and violations perpetrated by ISIS in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, both parties underscored the significance of collaborative efforts to incorporate these crimes into the UNESCO Register. This initiative aims to preserve both national and human memory and to prevent the recurrence of such violations in the future.

Additionally, there was an agreement to maintain technical and legal coordination to aid Iraq’s endeavors in this critical area.
