Abu Raghif Discusses Sectoral Work and Development Mechanisms in Iraq with International Telecommunication Union’s Development Bureau


Abu dhabi: Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission (CMC), Dr. Nawfal Abu Raghif, met with the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Cosmas Zavazava, during Iraq’s participation in the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-25), hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation mechanisms between the ITU and Iraq, represented by the CMC, regarding the regulation of sectoral affairs. This will contribute to strengthening the CMC’s advancement and development efforts, in line with international trends and prominent experiences in this vital and rapidly evolving field.



During the meeting, Abu Raghif reviewed the general features of the Commission’s vision for the next phase and the most important paths it seeks to achieve a more efficient sectoral experience in absorbing the work environment, regulating partner performance, and promoting mutual interests in the telecommunications sector.



He also expressed interest in studying successful international environments and benefiting from experiences that have achieved digital inclusion and received praise from specialized evaluation institutions. He emphasized the Commission’s keenness in Iraq to benefit from these experiences within the national roadmap for digital transformation.
