Abha: The Iraqi youth football team faced a narrow defeat against Oman, losing 1-0 in the Gulf Under-20 Championship held in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The decisive goal came in the 87th minute from Omani player Salman Dawood.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, despite this setback, the Iraqi team managed to secure a spot in the second round by topping its group with six points. This was achieved on goal difference from the Omani team, which also advanced following Bahrain’s loss to Egypt in the same group.

The Iraqi team is set to play against Yemen in the semi-finals, scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 PM Baghdad time.
