Doha: Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack on civilian residential buildings in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The attack has been described as a severe breach of Qatar’s sovereignty and has drawn widespread criticism from the international community.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Jamal Rushdi, the official Spokesman for the Secretary-General, stated that the attack represents a blatant and completely unacceptable violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. Qatar has been actively engaged, alongside Egypt and the United States, in mediating a ceasefire to bring an end to the ongoing war in Gaza. Rushdi highlighted Qatar’s remarkable and sincere efforts to halt what he termed a “war of extermination” being conducted by Israel in Gaza.
The Arab League has expressed its full solidarity with Qatar in response to this attack, supporting any measures that Qatar may undertake to protect its sovereignty and ensure its security. The Spokesman emphasized that Israel’s actions have strayed far from established international norms and laws, placing a significant responsibility on the global community to address a state that openly disregards the law and the potential consequences of its actions.
