Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced the results of the security operation in Al-Saada and Al-Rashad neighborhoods in eastern Baghdad. The Ministry stated the operation was conducted by the Baghdad-Rusafa Police Command, under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior, with support from additional units.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation led to the arrest of 166 suspects and violators. Among those arrested were five individuals accused of murder under Article 406 of the Penal Code, a female suspect wanted under Article 9 of the banned Baath Party Law, and 33 individuals arrested under various legal articles. Additionally, 96 suspects were detained for possessing unlicensed weapons, two for possessing narcotic substances, 28 for violating residency conditions of different nationalities, and one individual was caught with stolen motorcycles.
The Ministry reported the seizure of 126 pieces of weapons and ammunition, including five hand grenades and a launcher. Furthermore, three factories were closed for violating instructions, in coordination with the Organized Crime Directorate.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized its commitment to continue similar operations aimed at confiscating unlicensed weapons, tracking down wanted individuals, and curbing crime sources, all in efforts to enhance security and stability in Baghdad.
