Ankara: Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus has expressed strong condemnation of what he termed a “despicable Israeli attack” on Doha, asserting that it represents a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of Qatar.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Kurtulmus characterized the Israeli airstrike targeting the Hamas delegation in Doha as a heinous act executed by the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He emphasized that the attack undermines efforts towards peace in the Middle East and further demonstrates Israel’s reluctance to engage in peaceful resolutions.
Burhanettin Duran, Director of Communications at the Turkish Presidency, echoed these sentiments, urging the international community to break its silence on Israel’s aggressive policies. He emphasized the need for global action to uphold law and justice, stating that the attack violates international law, Qatar’s sovereignty, and the conscience of humanity. Duran noted that Israel’s actions continue to disrupt peace and stability in the region.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz also condemned the attack, viewing it as a threat to Qatar’s territorial integrity and peaceful diplomacy. He called for international institutions and responsible countries to take a firm stance against Israel’s aggressive actions, which he believes endanger regional stability and peace.
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has also voiced its condemnation, with spokesman Omer Celik labeling the attack a “brutal terrorist act” and a clear violation of international law. Celik criticized Israel’s hostility towards mediation and peace efforts, describing the targeting of the Hamas team as a deliberate act of aggression.
