Doha: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the necessity for joint action and coordination between Arab and Islamic countries to de-escalate tensions and prevent the expansion of conflict through diplomatic means.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place in the Qatari capital, Doha, on the sidelines of the emergency Arab-Islamic summit. Al-Sudani’s media office released a statement indicating that the discussions focused on the significant developments in the region, particularly the repercussions of ongoing violations and aggression by the occupying entity, which recently targeted the State of Qatar. Both leaders underscored the critical need for collaboration among Arab and Islamic nations to effectively de-escalate the situation and promote security and stability.
The dialogue also included discussions on strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran in various sectors, with a focus on economic and developmental cooperation. These efforts aim to serve the mutual interests of both nations and align with their shared vision for future cooperation, ultimately benefiting the aspirations of their peoples.
