Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani reviewed on Thursday the ongoing preparations for the Iraq Investment Forum, affirming the government’s commitment to supporting the event as a key platform to attract foreign capital and enhance the investment climate in the country.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Oil Ministry stated that Minister Abdul Ghani met with the forum’s preparatory committee, led by Ibrahim Al-Masoudi Al-Baghdadi, President of the Iraqi Economic Council. During the meeting, Al-Masoudi provided a detailed briefing on the special session dedicated to the Oil Ministry, which the minister is set to chair on September 27. This session will focus on investment opportunities in oil, gas, and downstream industries.
The statement further mentioned that discussions also addressed logistical arrangements, including the invitation of key officials such as the Turkish and Lebanese oil ministers.
Abdul Ghani stressed his determination to ensure the forum’s success, describing it as a reflection of the government’s strategy to stimulate the national economy and foster international partnerships.
The meeting was also attended by the Executive Director of the Economic Council, Thabet Kazem Al-Safi; Deputy Director General of the Economic Department at the National Investment Commission, Hussein Ali Kanbar, and Hazem Al-Shammari from the Media and Relations Department.
