Erbil: Erbil Security Service seized 19 tons of adulterated olive oil on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Service revealed that the confiscated cooking oil was produced illegally without any official license and violated health and nutritional regulations.

The agency reported that the illegal operation involved mixing regular oils with dyes and perfumes to alter their appearance, making them resemble olive oil. Dates and special logos were then added to the product to deceive consumers into believing they were purchasing authentic and healthy olive oil.

Furthermore, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the operation, and legal action has been initiated against them.
