China Intercepts An Australian Military Aircraft Entering Its Airspace

Beijing: China announced the interception of an Australian military aircraft after it illegally entered its airspace. Jian Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Southern Theater Command’s Air Force, stated that an Australian P-8A military aircraft was intercepted over the Xisha-Quendao Islands. The Southern Field Command organized naval and air forces to track, monitor, and issue warnings to expel the Australian aircraft, following relevant laws and regulations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the spokesperson stressed that the entry of the Australian military aircraft into Chinese airspace constituted a serious violation of China’s sovereignty. He highlighted that such actions pose significant risks that could lead to maritime and air incidents. Jian Jian urged Australia to immediately cease what he described as “provocative actions.”

He added that the Southern Field Command’s forces will maintain high alert and will resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and security, as well as regional peace and stability.
