PM Stresses The Importance Of Broad And Effective Participation In The Elections


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed the importance of broad and effective participation in the elections.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Sudani’s media office highlighted that he recently met with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from the Bani Uqba tribe in Baghdad. During the meeting, al-Sudani emphasized his commitment to engaging with esteemed Iraqi tribes, represented by their sheikhs, dignitaries, and various elites. He expressed his intent to listen to their problems and demands, acknowledging the significant role that tribes play in society and their contribution to providing the state with competent administrative and leadership figures.



Al-Sudani reiterated that the esteemed tribes have historically supported the state and the rule of law, especially during challenging times. He noted that the upcoming legislative elections are crucial and require broad, effective, and informed participation to elect representatives who will address the concerns and aspirations of the people.



The statement further mentioned that since the beginning of its tenure, the government has focused on improving the services sector. Efforts have been made to initiate infrastructure and service projects in Baghdad and across all governorates to meet the needs and demands of citizens.
