Nineveh: Security forces in Nineveh Governorate announced the arrest of a woman who was smuggling more than ten thousand narcotic pills as she attempted to enter Mosul through the Sham Gate checkpoint.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the smuggling attempt was thwarted during a routine inspection at the security checkpoint. The woman was carrying the drugs in her bag, and she was immediately arrested.

The source further stated that initial investigations revealed that the drugs were coming from a neighboring area in an attempt to distribute them within the city.
