Israeli Army Confirms Assassination of Hezbollah Commander in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: The Israeli army announced today, Wednesday, the assassination of a commander in Hezbollah’s “Radwan Force” in an airstrike targeting him in the Ain Qana area of southern Lebanon. Captain Ella, head of the Israeli army’s Arabic media department, confirmed the operation on her X account, stating that the Israeli Air Force conducted the raid under the Northern Command’s direction, resulting in the elimination of Issa Ahmed Karbala, a platoon commander.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Captain Ella elaborated that Karbala was involved in transporting weapons into Lebanon, which was considered a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. This action comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with both sides exchanging accusations of provocations.

Furthermore, US envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack issued a warning about the potential for a major confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel if the current situation continues. He emphasized the need for the Lebanese state to exert control and disarm the party stationed in southern Lebanon to prevent further escalation.
