Doha: Turkey and Qatar signed a series of agreements across several fields following the 11th meeting of the Turkish-Qatari Supreme Strategic Committee. The meeting, held at the Amiri Diwan in Doha, was attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Joint Statement of the 11th Meeting of the Supreme Strategic Committee was signed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. This marks another step in the evolving partnership between the two nations.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Exchange of Expertise in Strategic Development Planning was signed by Turkey’s Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Trade €š¬‚¬Å“mer Bolat, and the Secretary-General of the Qatari National Planning Council Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa. This memorandum aims to foster mutual collaboration in strategic development planning between the Turkish Budget Strategy Presidency and the Government of the State of Qatar.

Further strengthening economic ties, Turkish Trade Minister €š¬‚¬Å“mer Bolat and Qatari Trade and Industry Minister Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani signed a Joint Ministerial Statement. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Qatari Ministry of Trade and Industry.

In the defense sector, the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Defense Industries Sector was signed by Haluk G¶rgn, Chairman of the Turkish Defense Industries Presidency, and Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Qatar. This agreement signifies a commitment to collaborate on defense industry initiatives.

President Erdogan’s visit to Doha is part of a broader Gulf tour, which included a stop in Kuwait and will conclude in the Sultanate of Oman.
