Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed the importance of constructive dialogue in the friendly relations between Baghdad and Washington, highlighting the need to avoid any unilateral steps outside the framework of communication and consultation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Office released a statement detailing a phone call between Al-Sudani and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During the conversation, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States and continue joint efforts to solidify the deep and multidimensional partnership in the political, economic, cultural, security, and military fields.

Al-Sudani reiterated the Iraqi government’s commitment to maintaining the momentum of bilateral cooperation and advancing the implementation of agreements and understandings reached in recent months. He emphasized the necessity of avoiding unilateral actions and underscored the government’s dedication to reinforcing the de
mocratic process, which he believes will secure political stability and sustainable development in Iraq.
