Baghdad: The National Security Service announced on Thursday that it had addressed 564 social media accounts that threatened public safety.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, National Security Service spokesman Arshad al-Hakim stated, “(564) social media accounts that threatened public safety have been addressed.” The announcement highlights the ongoing efforts to monitor and manage digital platforms that pose risks to community security.
In addition to tackling social media threats, the service seized and destroyed 1,581 tons of smuggled and expired medicines and food products. Moreover, 285 unlicensed warehouses, restaurants, and tourism companies were shut down within a span of two months, showcasing a broader crackdown on illegal activities.
Furthermore, al-Hakim revealed that 31 individuals accused of belonging to extremist movements were arrested. This development underscores the comprehensive measures being taken to safeguard national security and public safety.
