Chief Justice Zaidan Highlights Iraq’s Capability on National Sovereignty Day


Accra:Chief Justice Faiq Zaidan emphasized that Iraq possesses the capability to safeguard its present and build its future through robust institutions, an independent judiciary, and a national will dedicated to the Constitution and the law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Zaidan made these remarks in a statement commemorating Iraqi National Day. He extended congratulations to the Iraqi people, reflecting on the nation’s long history and the ancient civilizations that thrived in the region. He highlighted Iraq’s longstanding understanding of law and social organization, which dates back thousands of years.

Zaidan expressed that Iraq’s rich heritage is not only a source of pride but also a responsibility to construct a state that upholds its Constitution, protects rights and freedoms, and bases its stability on justice. He noted that despite the rapid developments in the region and the increasing challenges facing the country, the enduring message of National Day is that Iraq, having contributed to
the origins of law, is equipped to protect its present and shape its future.

He further asserted that from a standpoint of responsibility, the judiciary will continue to serve as a protector of rights and a pillar of justice, with the interests of Iraq and its people being paramount.
