Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed that Iraq and Greece possess promising potential for expanding cooperation in various fields, thus reinforcing the values of their shared friendship. A presidential statement indicated that the President received Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetris and his accompanying delegation at Baghdad Palace on Thursday. During the meeting, they reviewed the overall regional and international situation and emphasized the importance of coordination on issues that contribute to strengthening international security and stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President affirmed that the two countries possess promising potential for expanding cooperation in various fields, thus reinforcing the values of their shared friendship. He noted that Iraq seeks to broaden the scope of economic and investment cooperation and build effective partnerships with all countries in a way that serves mutual interests and contributes to advancing development and shared progress.
For his part, the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, to the President of Iraq, expressing his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s standing and pivotal role in the region. He also affirmed his country’s keenness to elevate bilateral relations and develop channels of dialogue and coordination in a way that serves the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
