Three Injured in Explosion at Oil Refinery in New Mexico

Artesia: Three people were injured in an explosion at an oil refinery in the US state of New Mexico. Smoke billowed from the platform and drifted through parts of the city of Artesia before the fire was extinguished.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, HF Sinclair, which operates the Navajo refinery, stated that the fire was extinguished and three people were taken off-site for medical treatment. No other injuries were reported.

H.F. Sinclair spokeswoman Corinne Smith mentioned that air monitoring around the refinery and in the surrounding community showed no risk to public safety. It was unclear whether refinery production was affected.
