Baghdad: PM Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for the One Million Residential Land Plots Initiative to follow up on the stages of project implementation and the progress achieved across all governorates. Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of the project in addressing the housing crisis and providing citizens with the requirements for adequate housing.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaidi commended the progress achieved in the subdivision and allocation of land and praised the exceptional efforts of the Guidance Committee and other committees, as well as the extensive cooperation demonstrated by the governors, which has contributed to achieving tangible progress within a short period of time.

The Prime Minister reviewed a detailed presentation on the stages of project implementation, delivered by the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, who chairs the Initiative’s Guidance Committee. The presentation outlined the measures taken, efforts undertaken, progress achieved in each governorate, and the steps required to accelerate implementation of this project, which represents a large-scale development initiative and the first of its kind in Iraq on this scale.

PM Al-Zaidi directed the relevant ministries and governorates to expedite the completion of procedures related to the initiative and move forward with its implementation, given its importance in supporting broad and diverse segments of Iraqi society.
