Popular Mobilization Forces Begin Clearing Al-Awja Area in Salah al-Din in Preparation for the Return of Displaced Persons


Salah al-din: The Explosives Directorate of the Salah al-Din Battalion of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has begun clearing the Al-Awja area in Salah al-Din Governorate of war remnants and explosives in preparation for the return of displaced persons.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF stated in a press release that the operation was carried out based on the directives of the Salah al-Din Operations Command of the PMF. The operation was conducted in cooperation and coordination with the engineering corps of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior and was accompanied by the 35th Brigade of the PMF.



The press release further elaborated that the area was divided into three sections for the clearing process. The Salah al-Din Battalion successfully cleared the first section, comprising 99 buildings, which included both residential houses and government buildings. Among the cleared structures were the Al-Awja Mosque and the Imam al-Mahdi Hospital.
