Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, at his office in Baghdad on Sunday. The discussions focused on regional and international developments and their impact on Iraq, alongside preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for this month.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement highlighting that the Minister emphasized Iraq’s commitment to conducting transparent and fair elections, reflecting the true will of the Iraqi people. He lauded the United Nations for its support towards achieving this goal.

The meeting further explored avenues to boost cooperation and coordination between Iraq and the United Nations on issues of mutual interest. This collaboration aims to enhance efforts towards stability and sustainable development in Iraq.

Mohammed Al-Hassan, representing the United Nations, conveyed the organization’s appreciation for the ongoing partnership with the Iraqi government.
