Turkish President Reaffirms His Country Will Not Tolerate Any Form of Terrorism Within Its Territory or in Neighboring Countries

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed that his country will not tolerate any form of terrorism within its borders or in neighboring countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a press statement following a cabinet meeting in Ankara on Monday, Erdogan said, “We have endured immense suffering and paid a heavy price over the past forty years, and we do not want to see any form of terrorism in our country or on the lands of our neighbors.”

The Turkish President emphasized the determination of the Turkish government and people to achieve the vision of “a Turkey without terrorism” and build a prosperous future. He affirmed that Turkey is proceeding with the development of its domestic and national defense projects, while simultaneously strengthening defense cooperation with its European allies on the basis of “mutual benefit.”

He stated that Turkey has entered a new phase of defense cooperation with Europe, pointing to the agreement to supply his country with Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets during the recent official visits of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to Ankara. He added that his country is steadily progressing towards the introduction of the national fighter jet, the Kaan, into service with the Air Force on schedule, emphasizing that the aircraft will occupy a leading position in its class, just as the Hrjit light attack and training aircraft did.

He explained that “the Spanish government’s approval to purchase 45 Hrjit aircraft is proof of the world’s confidence in the Turkish defense industry,” adding that “Turkey will continue to make history in this field despite all attempts at overt and covert obstruction.”

Erdogan stated that his government, which he described as “the most successful in Turkey’s history,” will continue working tirelessly to realize the vision of a “Turkish Century,” emphasizing that unity between the people and the ruling coalition is the greatest guarantee for the success of this endeavor.

Addressing the tourism sector, Erdogan noted that Turkey welcomed approximately 50 million tourists in the first nine months of this year, generating $50 billion in revenue-a new record. He expressed confidence in reaching the annual target of $64 billion by year’s end.

In closing, Erdogan affirmed that permanently eliminating the threat of terrorism will open new horizons for the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions in the areas of development and tourism. He added, “We want to direct our resources toward education, industry, agriculture, health, and tourism-in short, toward economic development-and we will achieve this through our cooperation and unity.”
