Baghdad: The Coordination Framework emphasized the need to protect Iraq’s water rights and adopt sustainable, practical visions that safeguard water security and national sovereignty. A statement from the Framework indicated that the Coordination Framework held its regular meeting No. (248) at Nouri al-Maliki’s office, commemorating five years since its establishment; five years that have witnessed major turning points in the country, requiring firm national stances and significant responsibilities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attendees discussed the latest developments in the water file and the progress of the Iraqi-Turkish agreement, emphasizing the need to protect Iraq’s water rights and adopt sustainable, practical visions that safeguard water security and national sovereignty. The framework reviewed the most prominent decisions and stances it adopted in previous years, which-through collective awareness and a sense of danger-contributed to countering attempts to undermine Iraq’s security and stability, and to thwarting external terrorist, political, and economic projects that targeted the state’s structure and future.

In this context, the Coordination Framework commended the support of the Iraqi people and their national awareness, which was the true backbone in facing the challenges, expressing its pride in the public’s trust, which constituted a source of strength and inspiration in continuing the journey. It also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Council of Representatives in passing a number of important pieces of legislation and praised the government’s work in expanding services and improving executive performance despite the complex circumstances.

The Coordination Framework commended the responsible national role of the Iraqi judiciary as the constitutional pillar that safeguards justice and upholds the rule of law, affirming its support for the independence of the judicial institution and its commitment to all efforts that consolidate the prestige of the state and guarantee the rights of citizens without discrimination or exception. It emphasized the continuation of work in a spirit of cooperation and national responsibility, for a strong, stable, and promising Iraq worthy of the sacrifices of its people and its history.
