Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein affirmed that “the framework agreement with Turkey is a memorandum of understanding, not a treaty, and does not require legislative approval.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, he stated in a press conference: “The agreement with Turkey pertains to strategic water challenges, and these challenges are not limited to water scarcity alone, but also pose a threat to agriculture and the economy.”
