Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, stated in a press conference today that the security and intelligence services’ behind-the-scenes work was outstanding, particularly in gathering information and responding effectively to ensure the plan’s success.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Muhammadawi highlighted that the election security plan was the best among all previous plans, thanks to the support of all security forces and supporting agencies. He also noted the crucial role of citizen cooperation in providing significant support to the security forces.
Al-Muhammadawi firmly denied the presence of ISIS in Wadi Houran or any other areas of Iraq, stressing the professionalism of security forces who avoided entering polling centers and maintained neutrality to ensure the voters’ will was not influenced.
