Baghdad: The Ministry of Oil confirmed today, Thursday, that the Artawi project represents a qualitative leap in developing the extraction sector within the ministry’s strategic plans.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Basim Muhammad Khudair, stated: “The largest infrastructure project that has begun implementation is the Artawi project with its four sub-projects, which is being implemented by the French company Total.” He highlighted that the project is a significant step forward in developing the extraction sector within the strategic plans of the ministry.

He further mentioned that the ministry is advancing with the execution of other major projects within the fifth and sixth licensing rounds. He also noted that work has commenced on the project to develop the four Kirkuk oil fields following the first meeting of the Joint Management Committee.

Basim Muhammad Khudair affirmed that efforts are underway to implement the projects and meet the established production targets.
