Kirkuk: The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has successfully increased its representation in Kirkuk, securing an additional seat in the latest Iraqi parliamentary elections. Aso Mamand, the PUK’s supervisor for Kirkuk-Salah al-Din, conveyed his gratitude to the people of Kirkuk and the party’s supporters for their trust in the PUK list.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Aso Mamand highlighted the citizens’ confident turnout at the polls as a testament to their commitment to the PUK and their loyalty to its principles. He noted that this trust enhances the responsibility of the party’s representatives in both Baghdad and local administrations, urging them to continue their dedicated service to the people of the province.

Mamand announced that the PUK, which had won three seats in the 2021 elections, has now increased its seats to four. He also pointed out that the party gained approximately 30,000 more votes compared to the previous Kirkuk Provincial Council elections.

He reaffirmed the PUK’s dedication to its supporters, pledging ongoing service to Kirkuk and a commitment to defending its people. Mamand expressed his vision of transforming Kirkuk into a developed, model city, honoring the legacy of the late President Mam Jalal.
