Baghdad: Head of the Abshir Ya Iraq Alliance, Sheikh Humam Hammoudi, and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and head of the Al-Asas Alliance, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, emphasized today, Sunday, the necessity of adhering to constitutional timelines.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hammoudi’s office stated that Hammoudi received Al-Mandalawi, and they exchanged congratulations on the success of the electoral process and the accompanying safe and smooth atmosphere, which reflected the will of the people and their commitment to the democratic path.
He added that both sides emphasized the necessity of adhering to constitutional timelines to bolster citizens’ trust in constitutional institutions. They also stressed the importance of understandings among political forces in formulating a new vision for the mechanism of selecting the prime minister, one based on national consensus, prioritizing the country’s best interests, and drawing lessons from past experiences.
Sheikh Hammoudi emphasized that the current phase demands wisdom and a high degree of responsibility, and its success hinges on a unified stance and everyone’s commitment to building a strong state capable of meeting the challenges it faces. He noted that the people have fulfilled their duty by participating in the elections, and officials must now properly fulfill their duties in serving the people, combating corruption, and correcting errors and deviations.
