Al-Araji Highlights Iraq’s Success in Addressing Al-Hol Camp Issue


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed that Iraq has succeeded in the al-Hol camp issue. The National Security Advisory Office stated in a press release that National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji chaired a meeting on Sunday with the heads and representatives of international missions and organizations operating in Iraq.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed the content and vision of Iraq’s National Security Strategy, entitled “Iraq First.” During the meeting, al-Araji presented the key elements and dimensions of the National Security Strategy, as well as Iraq’s vision for regional cooperation on all levels, particularly cooperation in combating terrorism, addressing climate challenges, and economic and security partnerships.



The statement added that the meeting witnessed significant interaction regarding the strategy’s content. Al-Araji also pointed to the level of political stability in Iraq, the success of the sixth parliamentary elections, and the most prominent challenges related to the al-Hol camp in Syria.



Al-Araji thanked the participants in the meeting, praising the role of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in handling foreign relations according to the vision of openness, partnership, and cooperation with international brothers and friends adopted by the Iraqi government.
