Erdogan Calls for Muslim Unity to Counter Regional Instability

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the necessity for Muslim unity and strength in defending rights and promoting regional peace during his speech at the celebrations commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in Istanbul. Erdogan declared that Muslims cannot rely on others and must stand strong together to build a secure and peaceful region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan highlighted the importance of solidarity among Muslims, urging them to move forward in harmony and unity. He expressed his vision for the Muslim Ummah to unite as a cohesive force, reminiscent of its historical role in guiding global stability. Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to expanding alliances within the Islamic world and minimizing internal disagreements, amidst a transformative global landscape where the battle between good and evil persists.

Erdogan criticized the ongoing crises affecting regions from Palestine to Sudan, attributing much of the instability to the actions of the Israeli government. He labeled the Israeli government’s approach as radical and expansionist, asserting that it threatens not only regional stability but also broader human values. He accused the Israeli leadership of creating provocations and destabilizing the region, particularly in Gaza, which he described as a dire humanitarian situation exacerbated by Israeli policies.

The Turkish President condemned the targeting of civilians, including children in Gaza, by Israeli aggression, and highlighted the plight of millions of Palestinians living under harsh conditions. He drew parallels to historical atrocities, warning against the dangers of international complacency in the face of such aggression, and criticized the global community’s failure to effectively respond to the crisis.

Erdogan called for a reassessment of international structures, pointing out their inability to halt ongoing massacres, and urged for a collective effort to address the injustices faced by the people in the region.
