Najaf: The Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq, Dr. Titon Mitra, along with his delegation, visited the Najaf Governorate to engage in discussions centered around the region’s strategic development prospects.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the delegation met with the Director of the Governor’s Office and his advisor, Hisham Al-Silawi, to deliberate on strategic issues pivotal to the future of the governorate. During the meeting, Dr. Mitra announced that Najaf Governorate will be incorporated into the UNDP program. This inclusion will facilitate support for crucial sectors such as water management, alternative energy, and enhancing services in underprivileged areas.

Dr. Mitra expressed the UNDP’s commitment to collaborating directly and effectively with the local government, aiming to address the critical needs of the governorate. This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering sustainable development and improving living conditions in Najaf.
