Diyala: A joint security force has apprehended a man northeast of Baquba, the capital of Diyala Governorate, on charges of arms trafficking and practicing witchcraft and sorcery.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Haitham al-Shammari, who serves as the Director of Public Relations and Media for Diyala Police, reported that the operation was carried out in the al-Muqdadiya district. The arrest was made following precise intelligence reports, leading the security forces to a residence where the accused was found. During the operation, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and tools allegedly used for witchcraft and sorcery were confiscated.
Brigadier General al-Shammari further stated that legal procedures have been initiated to ensure that the accused faces appropriate judicial action. The arrest marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities in the region.
