Basra: Thousands demonstrated today in Al-Deir district, north of Basra, demanding improved services in Al-Shafi district. The demonstrators voiced their concerns and emphasized the urgent need for action.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protestors called for the implementation of a water treatment plant that would serve Al-Deir, Al-Shafi, and Al-Nashwa. They are awaiting the completion of the final designs for the plant and are eager for the commencement of work as per the announced schedule. The primary objective is to eliminate brackish water and enhance the conditions related to health, sewage, and environmental pollution.
