Ashgabat: The Kremlin announced on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid during his visit to the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informed reporters about the scheduled talks between the two leaders.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Kremlin had previously stated that President Putin would be visiting Ashgabat from December 11 to 12, 2025. The visit is part of his participation in the forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

The Kremlin further mentioned that President Putin will engage in a series of bilateral meetings with foreign leaders on the sidelines of the event. In addition to his meeting with President Rashid, Peskov confirmed that a meeting is also planned between President Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ashgabat.
