Baghdad: First Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, engaged in discussions with the Norwegian Charg© d’Affairs, Alexander Le Fell, focusing on bilateral cooperation and the development of the partnership between Iraq and Norway in political, developmental, and humanitarian areas.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Al-Mandalawi’s media office highlighted that the meeting took place at Al-Mandalawi’s residence. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration and partnership in various sectors, including political, developmental, and humanitarian fields, between the two nations.

Al-Mandalawi emphasized Iraq’s commitment to bolstering its relationship with Norway, recognizing it as a significant partner in supporting stabilization, reconstruction, and development initiatives. He pointed out the crucial legislative role of the Iraqi Parliament in establishing a conducive legal environment for investment and expanding cooperation with friendly nations to achieve mutual interests and ensure regional security and stability. He also stressed the importance of activating friendship committees and monitoring agreements and development support initiatives.

On the other hand, Alexander Le Fell conveyed Norway’s appreciation for Iraq’s efforts in promoting regional security. He affirmed Norway’s willingness to continue supporting Iraq in areas such as development programs, renewable energy, education, and institutional capacity building, which are expected to enhance Iraq’s capacity to attain sustainable economic and developmental progress.
