Moayad Al-Lami: We Strive to Keep Journalists Strong and Influential in Society

Basra: The Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, affirmed that they strive to keep journalists strong and influential in society. During his meeting with Basra journalists this afternoon, Al-Lami stressed the importance of preserving the distinguished role of journalists in society, noting that there are projects they are working to implement to improve the situation of journalists.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Lami said that the purpose of their visit to the Basra branch of the syndicate was to listen to the problems faced by Basra journalists and find solutions for them. The Head of the syndicate listened to the problems raised by his colleagues regarding their work and contacted the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, to find a solution to a problem faced by one of the journalists.

Al-Lami stated that it is essential to preserve the journalist's standing in society and for the union to be a support for journalists, noting that their role in the union is to provide support to their colleagues. He added, 'We are considering establishing vital and important projects that will benefit journalists in the coming years, and these will be announced at a later time.'
