Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, on Saturday praised the role of the United Nations Mission in supporting political stability and strengthening the democratic process in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the movement’s Secretary-General announced that al-Khazali received the United Nations Representative in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, at his office in Baghdad as Al-Hassan concluded his official duties.

The statement highlighted that the meeting included a review of the overall political developments in the country. During the discussions, Al-Hassan congratulated Iraq on the successful electoral process, acknowledging the active participation of the Iraqi people as a reflection of their commitment to the democratic path.

Sheikh al-Khazali expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Mohammed Al-Hassan and the United Nations Mission in supporting political stability and promoting the democratic process in Iraq. He emphasized the importance of respecting the will of the people and the outcomes of the elections.
