Hamas Rejects Somaliland Recognition and Displacement Plans

Gaza: The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” has issued a strong rejection of the recent declaration by the separatist administration in “Somaliland” of mutual recognition with Israel. Hamas considers this move a dangerous precedent and a failed attempt by Somaliland to gain legitimacy from an entity implicated in war crimes and genocide.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Movement has affirmed its complete rejection of any plans by the occupying forces to forcibly displace the Palestinian people, including using “Somaliland” as an alternative destination for the people of Gaza. Hamas emphasized that recognizing a separatist administration in Somalia highlights the international isolation faced by Israel due to its actions in the Gaza Strip. Hamas calls for strengthening this isolation and holding Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes against humanity.

In its statement, Hamas praised the Arab and Islamic countries that condemned the actions of Israel and warned against its attempts to fragment and destabilize Arab countries in service of its colonial project. The statement comes in response to Israel’s announcement on Friday of its recognition of “Somaliland” as an independent and sovereign state, marking the first official recognition of the region, which declared its independence from Somalia.
