Iran’s Armed Forces Reaffirm Readiness, Pledging Strong Response to Threats

Iran: Iran’s top military bodies have reaffirmed their full readiness to defend the country, warning that any renewed hostile action by adversaries will be met with a far stronger and more damaging response than in the past. The statements were issued on Monday to mark the Dey 9 Epic, the anniversary of the 2009 nationwide rallies in support of the Islamic system in Iran that were held on the 9th of the Persian calendar month of Dey.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran commemorated the Dey 9 events of 2009, describing them as a manifestation of public vigilance, unity, and loyalty to the Islamic Republic. The statement said the Iranian nation successfully thwarted complex plots by foreign adversaries and internal accomplices, proving the resilience and effectiveness of the country’s political system during times of crisis.

The General Staff emphasized that ongoing pressure, including sanctions, media campaigns, and psychological warfare, would not weaken Iran. It emphasized that, under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian people would continue to resist external pressure with determination. The statement assured the public that the Armed Forces remain fully prepared and will not allow threats to national security, warning that any future miscalculation by enemies would result in far more forceful, crushing, and costly retaliation.

Separately, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army issued a similar statement, underscoring its commitment to defending the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Army described the events of the Dey 9 Epic as a decisive response by the Iranian people to attempts to sow division and undermine national unity. The Army said that after failures in direct confrontation, the adversaries have shifted toward psychological and cognitive warfare aimed at creating division and despair. It added that unity around national leadership remains the most effective defense against such strategies.

Both statements concluded by stressing coordination among all branches of the Armed Forces and reaffirming their state of heightened readiness.
